Regular Studies (Studium)
Regular Studies combines a Bachelor's degree at a German university with structured, paid work at a German company. You are a student and an employee at the same time.
50% study, 50% practical work
Time alternates between the university and the company. What you learn in a lecture you apply at work within weeks, and what you meet at work sends you back to the classroom with a reason to pay attention.
You are paid, and you are not an intern
A student on this route holds a training contract with the company and receives a monthly training allowance from the first month. That is a stronger position than an internship — it is a contract, with the protections that come with one. The amount depends on the employer, the sector and the year of study.
What this route actually requires
This is a university programme under Residence Act section 16b, and it needs a recognised university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, or HZB). An Indian Class 12 certificate does not confer one on its own — the eligibility check tells you exactly where you stand and shows you the rule it relied on.
What a place actually requires
Being eligible is not the same as having a place. This route needs a signed contract with a German employer and a university place, before a visa can be applied for. German language ability is required — typically B2 to C1.
